Position: Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist

ME&A is recruiting for a Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist for an upcoming Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Platform project in Indonesia, funded by USAID. The position will a be full-time, five-year position based in Jakarta, Indonesia.


The Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist will ensure that a strategic approach to knowledge sharing and communications strategy is integrated into the MEL capacity building plan.Train and support country-level performance monitoring staff in knowledge management and communications.Support the MEL team in developing a variety of knowledge products associated with supporting USAID's MEL initiatives.Design, develop, and facilitate effective collaboration opportunities between and among USAID/Indonesia and its partners.Compile and finalize reports and format content for learning and dissemination events.Work with the MEL team to identify, strengthen, and add value to existing communication and knowledge management practices and processes in support of USAID/Indonesia.Work closely with the M&E and technical teams to identify data, stories, photographs, infographics, and articles for communications materials.Stay informed of Indonesia MEL strategies and methods, programs and activities, results and achievements, and on best practices, lessons learned and success stories so that project communication is rich, diverse and well grounded.Ensure compliance with all contract requirements and draft program statements describing connections between implementation and results for submission to USAID and the Government of Indonesia.As appropriate, liaise with communications staff at the USAID missions, Government of Indonesia, and other local partners to identify needs and opportunities for collaboration.Contribute to the project's CKM community of practice by sharing lessons sample materials, lessons learned, and best practices from Indonesia.Provide strategic and programmatic advice on communications and knowledge exchange to project leadership to strengthen program design, work plans and implementation.Promote technical staff's participation in global knowledge exchange forums.


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in communications, knowledge management, public health, international development, or related field
  • Minimum of four years of experience in knowledge management and communications, experience working in public health, and/or USAID-funded projects strongly preferred
  • Proven organizational and management skills, ability to work independently and in teams in a multi-cultural context
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate good judgment, possesses sensitivity and understanding of how messaging impacts diverse audiences
  • Excellent computer skills in a full range of software, including: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite, Infographic Programs and/or other graphics programs.
  • Proven ability to organize, summarize, and rewrite technical information for non-expert audiences.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and trainings in communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media.Strong proficiency in written and spoken English. Citizen of Indonesia required
