Summary:
ME&A is seeking a Mid-Level Proposal Writer to aid in proposal development and support for a range of international development projects funded by USAID, the U.S. Department of State, and other donor organizations. ME&A specializes in monitoring and evaluation, water resources and climate, democracy and governance, economic growth, human and institutional development, capacity development, communications and knowledge management.
Responsibilities:
- Write proposals that convey factual, objective, and technical information while incorporating compelling language that communicates the benefits of the organization's products/services and meet or exceed proposal technical evaluation requirements.
- Works cross-functionally to gather material and synthesizes information into a final product.
- Serve as a lead proposal writer for proposals, in accordance with ME&A and donor requirements.
- Facilitate technical design sessions to set proposal strategy and criteria for successful development of proposals.
- Integrate and assure the quality of technical writer's contributions to the proposal.
- Liaise and coordinate with ME&A HQ staff, technical specialists, consultants, and partners to provide clear, complete, and timely instructions and feedback for proposal deliverables.
- Review, revise, edit, and improve the quality and responsiveness of proposal documents and materials.
- Participate in technical reviews and incorporate feedback in a timely manner.
- Review and integrate all background materials to ensure that the technical application is compliant with all technical and formatting requirements.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of proposal design workshops.
- Work effectively with the Proposal Director, Proposal Team including sub-contractors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in International Development, or similar field.
- At least 4 years of related experience in proposal writing and management.
- Experience writing successful USAID proposals desirable.
- Knowledge of USAID programming and technical procurement requirements desirable.
- Excellent technical writing and editing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze and synthesize knowledge (inputs) into high quality proposal outputs.
- Ability to successful collaborate with others and work in teams, especially under pressure
