Position Summary                                                                                      

ME&A is seeking a Graphic Designer who will provide support to ME&A in the design and development of proposals, infographics, charts, maps, publications and other visual content needed to present project achievements and convey the meaning and messages behind various project data and reports, presentations, and other program management and communications needs. The Graphic Designer will play a key role in the regular update of the company websites, webinars and social media, as well as the development of company print and electronic materials, brochures, reports and other publications. The Graphic Designer will be part of teams creating company webinars; maintaining websites; and developing print and electronic materials, brochures, reports, and other publications. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for monitoring project progress through developing and updating project schedules and work plans using project management computer applications. He/she will also be responsible for maintaining the firm's photo collection.

This is a full-time position located at ME&A's headquarters in Bethesda, MD


  • Develop infographics, charts, diagrams, maps, and other visual representations that effectively communicate ME&A's work to internal and public audiences and for preparation of ME&A's proposals.
  • Develop project schedules and project monitoring tools using project management software.
  • Develop design solutions and templates for a wide variety of projects, including: multimedia and print materials; progress reports; PowerPoint presentations; project-related content on corporate-managed websites and in webinars.
  • Assist in maintaining online content on ME&A company websites and social media profile (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Act as a design consultant to ME&A staff by collaboratively developing clear visual representations and infographics that communicate programs or concepts, as well as ME&A project priorities and strategies
  • Develop GIS website integrations, such as ArcGIS StoryMaps and web maps, and help create special WordPress webpage designs for them
  • Ability to creatively illustrate complex systems and strategies such as Venn diagram
  • Maintain the ME&A photo collection
  • Provide basic training on project scheduling and management and on graphic design software to ME&A Home Office and project-related staff members

Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of computer and graphics programs (e.g. Adobe suite of design software -Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign- and Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project or similar programs)
  • Experience in web design and content management systems, including WordPress and Drupal 
  • Familiarity and experience in ArcGIS, including StoryMaps
  • Ability to work and design on Windows/PCs
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


 Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, or related Art field 
  • At least 3 years of experience working in the field of scheduling/information management systems, graphic design and/or data visualization.
