ME&A is currently hiring a senior-level evaluator with a minimum of 10 years' experience in evaluation methodology (including mixed methods evaluation), quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, and conducting evaluations of international development projects. The team leader should have demonstrated management and team leader experience, with a sector background in nutrition, food security, or agribusiness preferred. Strong writing skills are required. The preferred candidate will be have experience evaluating USAID-funded programs.


The team leader will guide the evaluation team and ensure all tasks listed in the SOW are completed within the set timeframes. S/he will be responsible for all deliverables, including taking responsibility for overall editorial control thereby assuring their high level of professional quality. S/he will take the lead in explaining the evaluation process to the team members and ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities, and how to properly record and describe data for the evaluation.


Specific Requirements:

  • Master's or PhD degree in the field of study related to evaluation, with sectoral experience preferred in nutrition, food security, and/or or agribusiness.
  • At least 10 years' work experience in evaluating development projects, including USAID-funded projects, with specific experience in Ethiopia preferred.
  • Led at least five evaluations similar in scope with this proposed evaluation.
  • Fluent in English, with strong writing and organization skills, language proficiency in Amharic preferred.
